Charmeleon #24 from Base is a 1st edition uncommon card that currently sells for about $100 ungraded, with graded copies ranging from $155 at grade 7 to $5,000 at grade 10. A grade 10 copy sells for around $5,000, about 50× the $100 raw price, so high-grade copies are worth grading.
